Baby dedications

For reasons, obvious from my last post, as well as others, the topic of baby dedications has come up. It has been a while since we have had one here locally, and quite frankly my memory, for the most part, fails me. Can anyone out there help me with the details, such as before, during, or after a normal service. Basic description, ideas, etc. Any help would be much appreciated. The sooner the better. We plan on having Anna dedicated on Easter Sunday, but also have another baby here at the local church to be dedicated soon. Thanks everybody.

God bless

Brother Ryan, I asked my husband if the minister's handbook had anything in it concerning baby dedications and he said that it did. He is going to bring it down to me later today and I'll e-mail the info to you. God bless!

Brother Ryan, I've performed baby dedications in the past. The fun part of baby dedications is to have the parents contribute to the service (read a letter they have written to the child, poem, blessing, ect.). I also like to make the service as much of a dedication of the parents as the child, as they consecrate themselves to God as parents for the purpose of being ensamples to the child in all things and instilling in him/her both the knowledge and the love of Christ. Don't forget to get a certificate of dedication. Some ministers don't provide them unless specifically asked for, but they make great memories. You can get them at your local Christian book/supply store.
